| | 1. Anyone else you fancy as potential serious title contenders? 2. Any chance of a league champion coming from outside those four clubs? 3. Gavin Hunt is happy with the transfer market dealings, but both Supersport United and Al-Ahly were unhappy with the treatment they received on recent Champions' League trips to Nigeria. Both clubs went there to play against Heartland FC. In your time in Europe, Mark, were you ever made to feel really unwelcome by club officials when playing away from home? 4. Why this mentality - I mean, surely being a good host will serve to improve your standing in the football world? 5. It is Telkom Charity Cup time again. Sundowns were leading the voting just a short while ago and one must fancy both Chiefs and Pirates to make it. I am also hoping to see Bloemfontein Celtic involved. They really have such wonderful fans. Your thoughts on the ideal line-up? 6. Of course, there is loads of transfer talk at this time of the year. Rumours are linking Bongani Khumalo with big clubs like Glasgow Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur. Do you think the Bafana and Supersport defender has the goods to succeed on the big stage? 7. Roy Hodgson has started his Liverpool tenure by signing an Englishman and a Scotsman. Is this coincidence or a definite bid to bolster the traditional British influence at Anfield? 8. It seems Liverpool will have to do that without Argentina captain Javier Mascherano. The midfielder has told Hodgson that he wants to leave. Will losing Mascherano be a big blow to the club? 9. Michael Ballack made 34 Premiership appearances for Chelsea in their title-winning season, but was then almost immediately released by the London club. Ballack has since returned to Bayer Leverkusen. I am bit surprised that none of the bigger clubs stepped in to sign him - after all, Ballack was a free agent back in June? 10. Finally, Sporting Braga hammered Glasgow Celtic three-nil in their Uefa Champions' League qualifier last night. Celtic will need an amazing result in the second leg in Scotland. Liverpool, meanwhile, will be involved in a Europa League qualifier tonight. The Reds are up against Rabotnicki and will travel to Macedonia without World Cup stars like Gerrard, Cole, Mascherano, Johnson and Kuyt. It is not an easy start for Roy Hodgson? |
